Relationships That Last Forever: The Single, The One and The Many

Whether we're in a committed relationship or not, there is no getting away from the fact that the quality of our past and present relationships creates an environment where we are stunted or thriving.

As individuals, we benefit from yoga, meditation, therapy and lots of personal growth work. We're healing and evolving personally but what about the quality of our relatedness? Do we really feel 'met and seen' by our inner circle? Do we feel supported to reach for our best? Are the relationships we live in creative and renewing or predictable and stale?

We can learn to cultivate authentic, exciting, connected relationships that push us to the edge of what it means to awaken ourselves, our friends, our workplace and our culture. It may be with some of your circle and not others. You may need to find some new friends with a shared interest in growing to new heights.

When we come into any relationship from heart and soul, as I and Thou, and really listen and really talk to one another; we enter into a sacred marriage with the One anyway. All relationship is spiritual when you commit to helping each other walk that path. This is how the Namaste Culture thrives.

If you want to experience this for yourself, join us for our upcoming workshop HEART AND SOUL: The New Face of Relationship.

The I – Thou Paradigm

The I – Thou Paradigm To Intimate Relationships

One of our biggest relationship roadblocks is that we tend to relate to each other from need, rather than from love. We form our relational patterns early and we get locked into expectations around getting our needs met by another. Soon, we begin seeing the other person as an object that either does or does not fulfill our needs.

It doesn't have to be this way. One of the most exciting forms of relationship is when we meet as the authentic, evolving mysteries we truly are. The second we define someone, they're dead to us-no more surprises. When we both show up fully present, aligned with Source in ourselves and appreciating the other's roots in that same Source, a new foundation for relationship opens up. This is what the philosopher Martin Buber spoke of as the “I/Thou Relationship”.

The I/Thou opens up a whole new field of energy. It's a creative, peaceful, exciting and profound space. No matter what has gone on between you before, this space is baggage-less and free. Your personal gripes and insecurities still exist but they become inconsequential. You have nothing to hide or be ashamed of in this forgiving fresh air of Truth. You can see beyond all the issues into the heart and soul of the other and you see that One Love manifesting as this other person and as you.

Sacred marriage is when you commit to wedding yourself to the One. Relationship as a spiritual path is when you agree to help each other walk that path. Intimacy is the space that opens between you that says “there is nothing that I will hold separate from the One”. When we show up whole in this I/Thou space, love continually ignites creativity. This is when you know, it's so much bigger than the relationship. This is when you start to experience the cosmos evolving through you.

Does this mean that singles can't experience it? Of course not! In our next post, we'll talk about what you can do if you're not in relationship. If you want to experience this first hand, join us at our upcoming workshop: HEART AND SOUL:The New Face of Relationship. Here's the link:      Heart And Soul

Bhakti Yoga and the Spiritual Path of Relationship

Bhakti Yoga and the Spiritual Path of Relationship

From our first breath to our last, our relationships are our oxygen. Whether you're in a committed relationship or not, we live our lives within the fabric of the give and take between us and others, and for many of us, one other in particular.

We all know when it's bad. We have methods to help us through the hard times. But, do we really know how good it can be? Imagine how amazing life would be if the people we're closest to really 'got' us and totally supported us to reach for our best and live our dreams. Imagine a relationship rooted in mutual recognition of each other's intrinsic value, rooted in trust and Truth and dedicated to something bigger than just the two of us.

Bhakti is the yogic path of orienting and connecting ourselves to Divine Love, the One Love. Personal relationships are a perfect mirror of our relationship to the One Love. This is why, when both partners are willing, you can take your relationship to the next level. It can become a transformative spiritual practice.

In the next post, we'll explore what that can actually look like. If you want to experience it firsthand, join us at our upcoming workshop HEART and SOUL: The New Face of Relationship. Here's the link: HEART AND SOUL

Three Kingly Gifts of the Winter Solstice Initiation

Tuesday, December 13th, 2011

What stops us from developing and sharing our wisdom as fully as we can? Our past patterns of limitation and fear live in our bodies, thoughts and energy fields. Fundamentally, they exist as samskaras (a fear vibration acting as a miniature gravity center for a field of vibrating particles/waves we experience as belief, emotion, injury etc.). These samskaras can derail us from progressing. We get to an edge, become anxious or fearful, and opt for what feels comfortable, the same old thing we already have in our lives. .

What if you could dissolve these samskaras, quickly and painlessly? What if you could root into a larger, more coherent gravity center of Deep Peace that could act as an estuary for birthing what you really desire?

The Three Kingly Gifts of the Winter Solstice Initiation The Winter Solstice has always been a Path of Initiation to awaken our sleeping potential.

The first gift is cosmic forces of returning lightwaves. The first light, at the turning point of darkness to light carries the most Saatvic, illuminated, pure conscious energy. It is Sat-Chit-Ananda. This is the triple consciousness of Sat (Divine Existence), Chit (Divine Consciousness) and Ananda (Divine Bliss). When you attune to the energy of this phase of the spiritual cycle of the year, you can use this powerful solstice time to move beyond what holds you back.

The second gift is Intention. Set a clear intention for what you want to create. Don't just write it, speak it like you mean it, feel excited about it. Show up 100% aligned with that intention- meaning no ambivalence. You don't need to know every detail but you do want to feel the Desire, the Expectation and the Belief that you deserve to manifest your dream.

The third gift is Vibration. Many cultures recognize that sound and vibration can bring profound physical, energetic and spiritual healing. Everything in the universe is energy vibrating in patterns. These patterns show up in us as repeated thoughts and results. One of the fastest and most effective ways to shake loose old patterns is through sound. Sound can literally reorganize the patterns. Remember the experiment with iron filings, exposed to sound vibration and self-organizing into beautiful geometric shapes? Bathe in heavenly vibrations that will restructure your koshas (the five sheaths of the body: physical, energetic, emotional, mental and bliss).

The Winter Solstice and Ancient Secrets of Transformation

Monday, December 12th, 2011
The Ancients knew that solstices were a doorway to higher consciousness. Our holiday traditions still reflect the secret ceremonies used to access the deep knowing that was once only the province of shamans and adepts. Fire, lights, evergreen, the color red, special songs, gift-giving, feast days and magical figures from other realms were important elements in ceremonies that engaged all the senses and opened portals to wisdom that was beyond words and concepts.

Today this knowledge is available for everyone's to use and benefit. However, it's available only if we use it well. We have a responsibility to pay it forward.

WHAT BRINGS US TO OUR KNEES

Monday, November 1st, 2010
Sometimes life is so hectic and demanding that it takes pain and loss to get our attention, to make us stop and notice how out of sync life has become with what's most precious. Sometimes it's the pain of the inevitable changing of relationships that's a calling to seek a deeper truth for solace – so we can let go and find ourselves whole again, and trust in life again, even when it doesn't look like you'd imagined.
Today is the birthday of my Energy Yoga Blog and as I embark on this new venture, I am really hoping we get to know each other from essence more than personality. It's really the mission of this blog, to create a virtual space for the unfolding and nurturing of what's best in us. I hope you comment freely and are moved to share from the deepest places of your soul. Yeah, our stories are different but our emotions aren't and, more importantly, neither are our True Selves. I don't know about you but, I'm so longing for relationships from that place and not all the masky crap that masquerades for cool, urbane or spiritual. So, that being said, let's talk about what brings us to our knees. For me, it's lately been my relationship with my teenager but it's really relationships in general. I'm guilty of having a lot of expectations. What I notice is how much I get knocked off-center and sucked into trying to fix things, worrying, not trusting life, feeling depressed, angry and just wishing for all the troubles to away and everything to be perfect (like this is what I am demanding life give me or else!). This is where my practice saves me. As I reference in my One with One Coaching program, an integrated practice that helps connect the dots between actions and unconscious beliefs, helps me to see the little tricks my ego plays and to distance myself from them. I'm noticing how many times I automatically react to what's arising, how often I get sucked into trying to change things rather than just letting them be and how I function from a place of thinking that everything is about to go all wrong. The trials and tribulations of motherhood? Maybe, but it's way more pervasive. It shows up in all of us with whatever triggers us and it's a huge energy vampire. It's a way of referencing all experience from an imagined past, a fixed point of view. Automatic reactions to or against life is the most disempowering habit a human being has. It sucks the life force right out of us making us incapable of showing up in the moment as unstoppable, with the power and presence that is our True Nature. When our feet are in the fire, if we can simply be present with our feelings without reacting, essence wells up as a strength that becomes your new backbone. We see opportunity where before there was only adversity. It's almost impossible to do this on our own. We need each other to create a massive force field of support to make this the new habit.
